The Ballad of Pete and Joe

Here are the stars of the story:

Joe (left), Sheriff Pete (middle), and the Ghost of Cactus Bill (right).

Sheriff Pete said "Joe. We need to trade with the Indians, but we'll have to go through the ghost town".

"The ghost town!" cried Joe. "But that's where the ghost of Cactus Bill is!"

Twenty miles later, they came to the ghost town.

"This is the place where the Great Fire occurred. That's why all the town is black." said Joe.

"Let's rest by this cactus" said Sheriff Pete.

And then, the Ghost of Cactus Bill attacked them.

"Help!!" yelped Joe and Sheriff Pete.

The Ghost said "I will imprison you in my jail."

"How do we get out of here?!" said Joe.

"I don't know if we can." said Sheriff Pete.

"Let's push over here because we haven't yet." said Sheriff Pete.

And then when they pushed on the wall, it opened!

But then, the Ghost saw them and they started running.

"We have to split." said Sheriff Pete grimly. And then, they did.

"Let's go behind this rock!" said Joe.

"We can climb up the back..."

"...and pretend we are a monument built by the Indians!" said Joe.

"Smart plan, Joe! We get to trade with the Indians!" said Sheriff Pete excitedly.

"We are trading for good things."

THE END

Halloween Decorating

We did Halloween decorating with spider webs and little ghosts in the trees (not shown).
The person up in the corner is my Dad on the phone. He ruined the picture.
This is the spider web picture that didn't get spoiled by my Dad on the phone. It was a different kind of spider web. I liked the other kind better, even though my Dad ruined the picture.

Operation: Lava Lamp

Lava Lamp

What I did:

I used vegetable oil and salt and food coloring and water. First I put water in an empty 2L bottle and then I put food coloring in it. Then I put in oil and then I put in salt. It made a big bubble that went up and down.

What I learned:

Water and oil don't mix - oil goes on top (it's lighter than water).
Salt is heavier than water and makes the oil sink.
The salt dissolved and the oil went back up (floats).

It is fun watching the salt pile onto the oil and then sink.

It is fun watching the bubbles. "Oooh! Aaah!"

Legos Rock!

This is my lava skis machine. I built it and the little thing beside it is a robot. The part in the front is a lava blaster. And the part in the back is his fire sword. The part on the sides are the skis and the jets. The guy in it likes to ski on lava and do tricks.

He was zooming on the lava when he bumped on a rock, made a big jump, and landed on the crayons.

After he got off the crayons, he hit another rock and turned over.

I am working on an ice fort that I will put in my blog later because I haven't finished it yet.

Eight is Great

For my eighth birthday, my mom suggested that I start this blog.

Here's what I'd like to post about:
  • Lego creations
  • Field trips
  • Vacations
  • Books I'm reading (or read)
  • Homeschooling
  • Fun reports
  • Websites I like
  • and more!

Mom asked me to write about my birthday first.

I ordered the cake because you can order it with the touch screen at Ukrops! I picked a yellow pound cake with white icing with a message and balloons. I liked the cake a lot! We had some friends come over to eat it with us, my godparents, the Knapiks.

I got a lot of loot from my family, like a movie, some Heelys, and a voyager compass and a 100-piece dinosaur puzzle and a dress shirt and some pants. And I liked it all!

And we went to the Great Wolf Lodge for my birthday.

I liked the Great Wolf Lodge because of the waterpark and arcade. And we got to eat Pop-Tarts in the morning. We played on the waterpark and got dumped by the bucket which dumps over 1000 gallons of water every five minutes.

I liked to play on the big water slides because they were so fast! The Big Foot Crossing was pieces of fake wood that you tried to walk across with ropes hanging above you over the water. I made it across!

I really liked my birthday!
